Scheduling Text Message Delivery
You can send text message reminders up to 30 days prior to the appointment, 1 hour prior to the appointment, or both. Choose a sendign schedule that best meets the needs of your office. (See Figure 2).
Editing Your Message
Text message appointment reminders have pre-set text with 2 customizable fields. See Figure 1 to see a sample text message. The Doctor Name and Phone Number are pulled from the Email General Settings page. (See the color-coded Message Preview legend at the bottom of Figure 2). Text messages cannot exceed 160 characters. If you have entered more than 14 characters in the Doctor Name field the text message will display the first 15 characters. If you have entered more than 12 characters in the Phone Number field the text message will display the first 12 characters. To make sure your phone number displays correctly, it is a best practice to type your phone number in the following format: 206-555-1234. Sesame allows 15 characters for a patient's first name in text messages. If a patient's first name is longer than 15 characters, the first 15 characters will display in the message.
